The Child Protection (Criminal Laws Amendment) Bill, 2009 the National Commission on the Rights of Children Bill, 2009 and the National Child Protection Policy had been prepared in consultation with stakeholders and submitted to the Cabinet for approval, which was expected next month. Imtiaz Kazi, Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Special Education of Pakistan, presenting Pakistan's reports, said that, since its last report, Pakistan had crossed a number of milestones to bring its laws and policies in conformity with the Convention. The Committee on the Rights of the Child today reviewed the combined third and fourth periodic report of Pakistan on how that country is implementing the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
